Candidatesto join at the Master programin Economicsmust be graduatesand professionals with a bachelor’s degree related to the economic science expertise. They must also have significantskillsin quantitative and qualitativereasoningand an importanttraining in the areasof theory andeconomics history, mathematicsand statistics.Theymust also havestrongcritical thinking skillsand theability to developindependentandcollegialresearch, besides theability togenerate and applyscientific knowledge.
Graduates of the Master’s program in Economics will show a disciplinary domain at the current state of art and of the methodological research skills. They will perform in methodological analysis activities within the public and private sectors, as well as teaching in higher education. They will specialize in the problem approach to the various areas of the economic discipline and its solution through the application of mathematical and analytical skills with an emphasis on the use of computational tools. However, the main attitude of graduates will be of social responsibility and of historical perspective, when necessary at the application of theoretical tools and quantitative and qualitative proposals for solving the problems associated to regional economic development.
